Heart 2 Heart Challenge: Color Challenge

Going backwards with my challenges on the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog but I wanted to complete every challenge for September.  It was a color challenge with the colors: Sunset, Barn Red, Cashmere and Gypsy.  When I was pulling the colors out I was thinking "No Way! What a crazy mix!"  But they turned out to be fun colors to work with.

Heart to Heart Challenge: Alphabet Soup

Made for the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog for Sept. 23 (yes, I'm a week late).  

The challenge was to use multiple alphabets on my project.  I feel like I cheated because the stamp is already made up of different alphabets.  So although I like my card, I don't think I made this very challenging for myself.

Steampunk Spells Mini-Banner

I was having trouble taking a good picture of the entire banner.  Hopefully, you get the idea anyway.

This was made using the Mini-Banner from Close To My Heart and some gorgeous paper from Graphic 45, Steampunk Spells.  

It was super easy to do especially since the background paper for the banner could be cut to exact size using the CTMH cricut cartridge Art Philosophy.  I added some bling onto each piece with some stickles.

There are a few brads, gears, ribbons, etc. from sources unknown.  Just pieces I had in my stash.  

Now I can't wait to get some Graphic 45 paper for Christmas and do a similar project!

H2H Challenges: A Few of My Favorite Things

Made for the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog.  Theme was "A Few of My Favorite Things."  Um, duh...CHOCOLATE!  Brand new stamp set from CTMH.  This was the August Stamp of the Month...A Chocolate Affair.  Perfect set for this challenge.

Paper: CTMH (Watermelon and Cocoa), SU! Very Vanilla
Ink:  CTMH (Cocoa, Chocolate, Desert Sand, Holiday Red and Watermelon)
Glitter: Stickles and unknown glitter

Never Grow Up!

This was made for the Clean and Simple Challenge at Split Coast Stampers.  Challenge #238 was to use the SU! colors Midnight Muse, Smoky Slate and Melon Manbo.  The stamps and ink are CTMH.  The images were colored with Sharpies.

H2H Challenge: Brown Paper Packages

This card was made for the Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog, which a blog that showcases Close To My Heart products.  The challenge for this week was "Brown paper packages tied up with string".  I went very literal for this challenge.

I used the CTMH cricut cartridge Art Philosophy to cut out the packages, stars and swirl.  The bakers twine is also from CTMH.  Background is the CTMH Kraft paper (awesome stuff!), and colors are Olive, Goldrush and a brown that doesn't seem to match any of my CTMH swatches (pulled it from my scrap pile, so who knows!).  

Lucky Rainbow

Another Split Coast Stampers challenge.  This was in the Clean and Simple category.  I love the CAS galleries on SCS.  They are stuffed full of gorgeous cards that are *duh* clean and simple.  

For this challenge we had to use an edge punch, so I pulled out my trusty Stampin' Up! scalloped edge punch and scraps of paper (Roy G. Biv anyone?).  It put together a little crookedy, but I still like it.  The image is from a CTMH set.  I colored it with my Sharpie markers and added some gold Stickles to the pot o' gold. 

Having A Ball!

I joined the Scrapbook challenge group on Splitcoast Stampers to try to motivate myself to scrap more often.  I love to scrapbook, but sometimes it seems like a chore to have to drag all my stuff out when I only have an hour or so.  

I reorganized a bit, so most stuff is close at hand and it will be easier to get a little bit done even if I only have 30 minutes or so.   This is one of my recent layouts I've done.  I love this layout because I had such a great time with my mom at the Cardinals baseball game in Kansas City.  I don't think my mom and I ever do much together without other family, so it was a very special time for me to have my mom all to myself!

The Pits

Another card that was made for a SplitCoastStampers challenge.  This was a sketch challenge, SC451.  I find it so much easier to make cards I like when I'm playing in a challenge.   My life was sorta the pits these past few weeks, so it was a very appropriate card.

I used some old DP scraps  along with a brand new stamp set from Stampin' Up (Giggle Greetings).  The baker's twine is from CTMH.

First Challenge

Just thought of another goal:  learn how to take better pictures of my projects.  

This card was made for a Split Coast Stampers challenge.  If you want to learn all there is to learn about stamping and paper crafting, that is the place to go!  Throughout the week different challenges are given and it's a great way to think out of the box and get some inspiration.  On Mondays one of the challenges is from the "Clean and Simple" group.  This was my entry.  

I used Stampin' Up Winter White cardstock as a base.  Stamps were Horizon (C1454) and Scrapbook Statements-Poets Everyday Life (C1539) from Close to My Heart.  Sparkles were from CTMH as well (Z1752).

The Beginning

My goals are simple:  To use up some of my paper hoard, get ink on my stamps and stop saving my bling for the perfect project!

Hopefully, by joining in on some challenges at Split Coast Stampers and a few blogs, I can get some inspiration to stamp and scrap more and use up all this stuff.

Besides, if I use up my stuff, I get to buy more...right?
